Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on medium/high voltage electrical power systems. This role requires extensive hands-on testing, regional travel up to 75%, and mentoring of junior technicians.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics and PIDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements.
