Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to lead testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. Travel up to 75% regionally/nationally for project assignments, with compensation up to $110/hour based on certification and experience.

The role includes testing, reporting, mentoring technicians, and leading project teams while adhering to NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective relays.
• Ability to read one-line and schematic diagrams and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and document findings in comprehensive engineering reports.
• Troubleshoot complex failures and mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams and ensure safety compliance.
