Job summary

Shermco Industries is hiring a Senior NETA Field Service Technician in Houston, TX. The role involves traveling to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and data-collect high and medium voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities include transformer testing, relay calibration, and switchgear/breaker testing. Qualified candidates will have an EPC or EE degree, NETA certification (III/IV) or electrician license, and 5+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading/writing/speaking English.
• Proficient PC skills: email, internet, data entry, Excel; PowerDB experience a plus.
• Willing to travel locally/regionally and occasionally overnight.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data-collect electrical systems from 480V to 600 kV.
• Test instrument transformers and power transformers (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Perform relay calibration and power metering; test switchgear and breakers; troubleshoot ATS.
• Rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain safety procedures and pass pre-employment drug test and background checks.
