Job summary

Vertiv's Electrical Reliability Services and High Voltage Maintenance division is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) for regional/national projects. Travel up to 75%; perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems, up to 500kV.

Base compensation up to $95/hour with OT policies, signing bonus up to $10,000, and a full benefits package including 401(k), medical, and vehicle. Strong growth paths toward leadership roles.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV is required and current.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with test equipment including Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
