Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to lead acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV across regional projects.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high-voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficient with high/low voltage test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Ability to read/interpret one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret test results and author detailed engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time pressure.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
