Job summary

Vertiv Corporation in Texas is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on high voltage power systems up to 500kV. The role requires regional travel up to 75% and offers base compensation up to $110/hour, plus OT, signing bonus and a full benefits package.

You will lead testing activities, analyze results, prepare engineering reports, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E and OSHA

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with test equipment listed (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based)
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
