Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and ongoing testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV across diverse projects. Role requires deep HV testing expertise, strong diagnostics, and leadership on multi-discipline teams.

You will travel regionally up to 75% and mentor junior technicians while ensuring compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E and OSHA safety requirements.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV current and in good standing.
• 7+ years HV/mid/high-voltage testing experience.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Read one-line, three-line diagrams and P&IDs; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables and breakers.
• Interpret results and author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and act as technical lead on projects.
