Job summary
Stellar Professionals seeks a Senior Microsoft SQL & .NET Technical Lead to support the Virginia Department of Transportation Tolling Modernization in Mechanicsville, VA. This hybrid role requires hands-on SQL and .NET engineering leadership to transform a monolithic database into microservice-aligned schemas.
You will partner with PMs, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to design modernized architectures, build ADF pipelines, and support secure API integrations while ensuring PCI-DSS compliance
Qualifications
- 10+ years IT software engineering experience.
- 7+ years SQL Server development & T-SQL optimization.
- 7+ years .NET/C# backend service and API development.
- 5+ years supporting agile delivery workflows.
- 5+ years building Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- 3+ years acting as Technical Lead guiding teams.
- 3+ years modernizing legacy databases or cloud migrations.
- 3+ years Azure SQL on IaaS environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural discussions for microservices and API integration.
- Hands-on schema modernization, T-SQL development, tuning, refactoring.
- Support .NET C# API development and backend microservices.
- Build ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory for large workloads.
- Manage Azure SQL on IaaS VM environments for availability.
- Ensure PCI-DSS compliance and data governance alignment.
- Collaborate with PMs, Scrum Masters, QA, DevOps and Cloud teams.
