Job summary

Waystar is seeking a Sr. Engineer to design, build, and implement web and processing applications, collaborating with Technology and Business teams. You will troubleshoot production issues with Client Success and ensure code changes pass SDLC with QA support.

The role requires deep .NET and SQL Server experience, unit testing proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while mentoring other engineers. A BS degree or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of .NET and SQL Server experience.
• Unit Testing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change.
• Highly self-motivated.
• Ability to work both in team and solo environments.
• Experience building highly scalable software solutions.
• Subject Matter Expertise in at least one technical track.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs/develops/tests/implements improvements or new features into the Waystar website and core processing applications.
• Responsible for developing/augmenting applications based on the functional and technical specifications.
• Unit tests all changes on development and coordinates with Business/Technology Owners to ensure requirements are met.
• Communicates development progress daily to senior-level team members and tracks work items through the SDLC.
• Assists in QA and Production Code Turn days, including deployment instructions and smoke testing.
• Mentors fellow team members and assists in identifying areas for refactoring and optimization.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and management.
• Provides estimates for project tasks and updates estimates as needed.
