Job summary

Aquent, partnering with a leading financial services institution, seeks an experienced .NET Developer with AI focus in Austin. You will architect and deliver scalable, high-volume business solutions, leveraging .NET, Kafka, cloud-native platforms, and Generative AI to accelerate delivery and quality.

You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and peers to implement event-driven systems, ensure production readiness, and modernize legacy components into modern data stores and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building scalable .NET/cloud/web services for high-volume transactions.
• Experience in scalable, resilient, event-driven apps with .NET and Kafka.
• Know-how on distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with IBM MQ, Kafka, Splunk, JSON/XML, caching, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, resilient event-driven apps using .NET and Kafka.
• Build and modernize high-volume services, APIs, and distributed capabilities.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Leverage Generative AI assistants to accelerate implementation, testing, refactoring, reviews, and scripting.
• Apply agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and spec-driven development practices.
• Improve engineering quality with automated tests, code reviews, observability, and production readiness.
• Support modernization initiatives toward distributed .NET services and cloud-native platforms.
• Work with engineers in a team-oriented environment to adopt AI-assisted development practices.
