Job summary

Social Discovery Ventures seeks a senior backend engineer to advance our high-load C# / .NET Core codebase. You will design scalable services, implement features, and work on an AI layer for voice and real-time capabilities.

This remote role offers full-time employment with CET-aligned hours, compensation discussions during recruitment, and extensive benefits including health, training support, and a supportive work-from-anywhere culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial C# / .NET development, including 2+ years on .NET Core in production.
• Real distributed-systems and high-load experience with throughput, latency, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ preferred; Kafka / Azure Service Bus / NATS acceptable).
• Fluent Russian, ready to work in CET (±2) hours.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the architecture of high-load services and grow the existing C# / .NET Core codebase.
• Build new product features and integrations, including AI layer (voice, real-time).
• Design and operate async pipelines on RabbitMQ with delivery guarantees and backpressure.
• Work with MS SQL schema and queries under load; optimize indexes and plans.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, tests, observability, and engineering standards.

Your main tasks will be:

• Contribute to the architecture of high-load services and grow the existing C# / .NET Core codebase.


• Build new product features and integrations, including the AI layer (voice, real-time, and — on the horizon — video and emotion recognition).


• Design and operate async pipelines on RabbitMQ: delivery guarantees, idempotency, error handling, backpressure.


• Work with MS SQL schema and queries under load: indexes, execution plans, hot-path optimization.


• Hold the bar on code quality across the team: code review, testing, observability, engineering standards; influence technical decisions beyond your immediate area.

We expect from you:

• 5+ years of commercial C# / .NET development, including 2+ years on .NET Core in production.


• Real distributed-systems and high-load experience: you can reason about throughput, latency, and fault tolerance through specific incidents from your own past, not from a textbook.


• Hands-on experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ preferred; Kafka / Azure Service Bus / NATS acceptable with a high-load track record) and MS SQL Server under load.


• Fluent Russian, ready to work in CET (±2) hours.
