Job summary

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is seeking an Application Developer in NYC's Financial District to design, develop, and support enterprise applications, aligning with business needs and modernization efforts.

You will work closely with senior developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable software using .NET technologies, REST APIs, SQL, and Azure DevOps, while participating in modernization programs and promoting best practices across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
4+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience with C# and .NET development.
Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
Familiarity with REST APIs and Git or other source control.
Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, document, and maintain secure and reliable business applications.
Enhance and support existing .NET applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while providing ongoing support.
Participate in modernization of legacy applications using current .NET technologies.
Develop REST APIs and reusable application components.
Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
Utilize Azure DevOps for work tracking, sprint planning, and software delivery.
Work with source control systems and follow established branching and deployment processes.
Support enterprise platforms including Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Formstack, and other business applications as required.
Assist with technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.
Stay current with Microsoft technologies and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
