Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our IT team. The role focuses on analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Firm's software solutions.

You will work with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable applications using .NET, C#, SQL Server, and modern web technologies, with AI-enabled capabilities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on development experience across the Microsoft stack,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with AI-enabled or generative AI solutions.
• Proficiency with .NET, ASP.NET Core, C#, and SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, database design and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and REST APIs.
• Experience with Visual Studio, SSMS and Azure DevOps.
• Able to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and project teams.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and SDLC standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, development, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of major software systems.
• Design, develop, maintain and test web-based, desktop and cloud software solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations using APIs and web services.
• Work with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Lead initiatives and provide guidance to project teams as appropriate.
• Evaluate AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, code quality and security.
• Develop AI/Large Language Model integrations to automate workflows.
