Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA seeks a Senior Member of Technical Staff to lead analysis and modeling for navigation and positioning architectures in national security and civil space programs.

You'll apply engineering techniques, perform architecture evaluation, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with senior leadership on geo-spatial intelligence, space surveillance, and PNT challenges.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited program (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• 0–1 year of industry experience in modeling/simulation, mission analysis, astrodynamics, or space operations.
• Familiarity with Python, C/C++, and/or HPC/Linux environments.
• Experience with geolocation, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Support analysis in geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, navigation systems, or space protection.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to support research, development, and acquisition decisions for PNT solutions.
• Perform architecture evaluation modeling using in-house or custom tools.
• Plan and conduct deep dives, trade studies, and assessments with the team.
• Develop and present timely, technically accurate analysis reports with recommended solutions.
• Aid sustainment and growth of AS&C analytics and simulation capabilities for customers.
• Lead small teams and mentor junior staff on routine analysis and development tasks.
