Sayres and Associates Corporation in Boston, MA seeks a Senior-Level Naval Architect with a SECRET clearance to lead naval architecture efforts for the Navy’s Service Craft Planning Yard. The role focuses on stability, weights, and structural engineering, with lifecycle support for vessel modifications and repairs.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee shipboard design reviews, and coordinate a skilled team in a demanding defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or related engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of stability analysis tools and methods.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis tools and methods.
• Familiarity with US Navy, ABS, USCG, and commercial engineering requirements.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineering support resource for Naval Architecture and Structural Engineering in PMS 300 PY Technical Lead and PMs.
• Provide technical leadership for shipboard modifications, repairs, alterations, and assessments.
• Manage technical workforce responsible for PMS 300 PY Group workload including shipboard designs and analyses.
• Provide SME in Naval Architecture for day-to-day fleet issues.
• Develop and review vessel stability assessments and weight/moment calculations.
• Develop, review and revise SIDs using AutoCAD and issue to PMS 300 database.
• Develop SARs and upload to PMS 300 database.
• Provide LAR support and responses.
• Review drawings, calculations, and docs for adequacy and compliance.
• Coordinate and manage shipcheck teams and travel as required.
