Job summary

Sayres & Associates, LLC in Boston, Massachusetts seeks an experienced Senior-Level Naval Architect with a SECRET clearance to lead naval architecture and structural engineering for the Service Craft Planning Yard.

You will oversee stability analyses, weight and center of gravity, shipboard modifications, SIDs, SARs, and life-cycle engineering, with responsibilities across design reviews and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Naval Architecture or related engineering field.
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with stability, hydrostatics, weight and moment calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering support for Naval Architecture and Structural Engineering in PMS 300 PY group.
• Provide technical leadership for shipboard modifications, repairs, and engineering assessments.
• Coordinate workload of the technical team including stability and structural analyses.
• Develop, review, and approve Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Alteration Records (SARs).
• Travel for shipchecks and program activities up to 5 days per month.
