Job summary

Sayres & Associates, LLC seeks an experienced Naval Architect (Hull, Hydrodynamics, Weights, Stability) with an active SECRET clearance for on-site work in Washington, DC. This role supports the PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management team. Travel to Mobile, AL is required as needed.

Responsibilities include reviews of designs, stability calculations, and interfacing with shipyard and government customers. A Bachelor's in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering with 7+ years of ship design experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering with 7+ years of ship design experience.
• Experience with hull, hydrodynamics, weights and stability analyses.
• Active SECRET clearance verifiable in JPAS or ability to obtain interim clearance.
• Experience with design reviews and shipyard/government interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management as SME on hull and systems.
• Provide design reviews, calculations, and analyses for ship projects.
• Develop corrective design resolutions to meet government specifications.
• Supervise and train junior SDM engineers.
