Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Natural Resources Scientist to support Florida-focused environmental permitting and planning across the southeastern United States. Engage with agencies and lead field investigations, NEPA-related work, and project management in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

The role offers opportunities to mentor staff, develop client relationships, and contribute to energy, utility, and coastal resilience projects from Boca Raton or other Florida offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, or a related discipline (required).
• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Professional certifications such as PWS, Certified Ecologist, CEP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conducting wetland and surface water delineations per USACE and Florida requirements.
• Supporting and leading environmental permitting with USACE, FDEP, NWDS, FWC, NMFS, USFWS.
• Preparing permit applications (CWA 404/401, ERP) and supporting documentation.
• Carrying out ecological assessments, habitat evaluations, species surveys, and NEPA-related studies.
• Managing natural resource components of major infrastructure and energy projects.
• Mentoring junior staff and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
• Traveling periodically within Florida and the southeastern US.
