Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) seeks a Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer to support the METSS System Support Team for the statewide Child Support System. The role emphasizes development, maintenance, and modernization of critical applications, with collaboration across technical teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Natural/ADABAS experience, strong Linux expertise, and a proven record of delivering scalable, reliable solutions while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of programming experience with Natural and ADABAS.
• Experience executing Natural processes in batch environments using JCL/SCL and supporting online applications.
• 2+ years analyzing, designing, and developing large-scale Linux environments.
• 4+ years supporting automated Child Support Systems.
• 3+ years providing system architecture guidance.
• 3+ years recommending enhancements to systems and processes.
• 3+ years creating and maintaining technical and operational documentation.
• 3+ years training end users on software applications and processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications using Natural and ADABAS.
• Develop and execute Natural batch and online processes using JCL and/or SCL.
• Support enhancement and maintenance of the statewide Child Support System.
• Participate in modernization and integrations with external systems.
• Provide technical leadership and SME guidance on architecture and design.
• Translate requirements into effective software solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and update technical documentation and procedures.
• Train end users and support staff on functionality and business processes.
• Recommend system and process improvements to increase efficiency and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support.
