Job summary

Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation (NHLC) is a nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to Native Hawaiian rights. NHLC is hiring a Senior Litigation Counsel to join its impact litigation team, handling complex cases with appellate practice, including water rights, environmental, and cultural property issues.

Qualifications

8+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney in litigation.
Active license to practice law in Hawaii and good standing.
Trial and appellate experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage assigned litigation cases from assessment to trial or appeal.
Lead discovery, witness preparation, and depositions.
Draft, edit, and finalize pleadings and briefs.
Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations for clients.
Maintain client relationships and coordinate with NHLC leadership.
Collaborate with partners and pro bono counsel to advance NHLC projects.
