Job summary

NovaSource Power Services seeks a Substation Services Technician to perform testing, diagnostics, maintenance and commissioning support on medium- and high-voltage equipment for utility-scale renewables facilities across North America.

The role requires hands-on electrical expertise, field leadership, and the ability to travel 75–80% to project sites. You will contribute to asset reliability, safety, and compliant operations while delivering detailed field reports.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of medium- and high-voltage electrical experience.
• 3+ years performing substation, utility, industrial, or renewable energy maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience testing and maintaining transformers, disconnect switches, and substation equipment.
• Experience interpreting electrical test results and equipment condition.
• Formal electrical certification such as Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and condition assessments of substation equipment.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Coordinate field outages and support commissioning/return-to-service.
• Develop detailed field reports and document test results.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair or replacement.
