Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Drinking Water Treatment Engineer to support municipal drinking water projects across Minnesota and the upper Midwest. You will lead planning and design phases, assist with construction administration, and mentor junior staff. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 10+ years in water treatment projects, and a Minnesota P.E.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience managing and/or coordinating water treatment infrastructure piloting, planning, design, and construction projects.
• Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to achieve within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Become engaged in active project delivery in a client-facing role in the municipal Water and utilities markets in the Midwest United States.
• Support and lead planning and design phase efforts for drinking water treatment facilities.
• Support and lead construction administration efforts on active projects including site visits, submittal reviews, and contractor/client interaction.
• Provide mentorship and leadership for junior staff and also effectively manage multi-disciplined building services teams.
• Engage in work that spans local, regional and national geographies.
• Support Stantec’s reputation for innovation and research through participation in conferences, professional associations, and academic partnerships.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
