Overview
We are seeking a Senior Municipal Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
- Project manager for multiple municipal projects. Conduct contract negotiations with clients and sub‑consultants.
- Plan, schedule, bill, and report, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
- Perform preliminary engineering design and/or review the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters.
- Work with external clients at progress meetings and throughout the project to meet client needs, project schedules, goals and deadlines.
- Prepare cost and man‑hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.
- Perform quality control and guide junior staff related to hydrologic/hydraulic models or methods.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and design reports and submit them for approval.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of hydrologic/hydraulic models and modeling reports and submit them for approval.
- Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
- May perform other duties as the supervisor may, from time to time, deem necessary.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources).
- Management coursework and/or MBA is a plus.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida with 6+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project management including budget, schedule and deliverables performance.
- Demonstrated experience working with municipalities, water management districts, and other water agencies.
- Good technical writing, computer and communications skills.
Expected compensation range is between $90,400 - $120,600 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
