Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an experienced Municipal Engineer/Project Manager to lead public infrastructure projects in Central New Jersey, with a hybrid schedule of one day in-office and four days remote. The role offers a competitive salary ($100,000–$135,000+) and comprehensive benefits.

You will manage design, permitting, and construction administration, oversee contracts and budgets, and serve as the main client liaison. NJ PE preferred or transferable licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of municipal/public infrastructure project experience (10+ preferred).
• EIT certification required; NJ PE license preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage municipal engineering projects from design through construction.
• Oversee public contracts, budgets, milestones, and quality standards.
• Serve as primary contact for municipal clients and maintain relationships.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and field staff.
• Prepare and review plans, estimates, bids, and permit applications.
• Support roadway, stormwater, water, sewer, and recreational facility projects.
