Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to lead our Municipal Engineering department in Newark, NJ. This full-time role focuses on managing complex municipal projects, mentoring staff, and supporting growth in Municipal Engineering Services.

The ideal candidate has deep experience leading municipal projects in New Jersey and strong relationships with municipal leaders or the ability to develop them. PE license in NJ required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in New Jersey.
• 12+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with municipal/infrastructure focus.
• Proven project and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of municipal projects for municipalities, counties and authorities.
• Ensure projects align with profitability, growth, and resource management.
• Serve as Municipal Engineer and/or Board Engineer, attend meetings as needed.
• Oversee reviews of site plans, subdivisions, and land-use applications.
• Manage capital improvement projects from planning through construction.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
