The North Carolina Department of Insurance, Office of State Fire Marshal, seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician IV to provide journey-level maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and infrastructure systems at the ETC. The role requires code knowledge and independent repair planning to keep training facilities safe and compliant.

Excellent on-call duties, after-hours work, and strong documentation are essential.

Competenze

• Holds NC license in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical trades (preferred).
• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED and two years journey-level experience in two trades or equivalent.
• Valid NC driver license required; EPA Type I/II/III or Universal certification may be required.

Mansioni

• Perform highly skilled electrical maintenance, repairs and installations on training props.
• Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems and related components.
• Carpentry work including framing, roofing, flooring, drywall and finish work.
• Install, repair and replace plumbing systems and associated piping.
• Operate water systems and support swiftwater training site operations.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inventory records and code-compliance documentation.
