Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician III at Southern Hills, Atlantic Terrace and Atlantic Gardens, three affordable housing properties totaling up to 558 units, located in Washington, D.C.

You will perform advanced apartment maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair duties across the community while mentoring other maintenance team members. Strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of residential, multifamily maintenance experience.
• Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Able to participate in on-call rotation.
• Basic computer/tablet proficiency for work orders and maintenance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in apartments, common areas, grounds, and building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and painting.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues while delivering excellent customer service.
• Lead, train, and support maintenance team members.
• Complete service requests, work orders, and apartment turns in accordance with company standards.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and property inspections.
• Maintain curb appeal through groundskeeping, landscaping, trash removal, and snow removal activities.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
