Job summary

NHE, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for a multifamily community in Beaufort, SC. You will oversee repairs, unit turns, preventive maintenance, safety, vendor coordination, and on‑site staff supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, resident service, and budget awareness, with opportunities to mentor staff and coordinate with the Community Manager on property projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years general maintenance experience; 1+ year multifamily/industrial/institutional service requests preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, pools/spas, irrigation, and related systems.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
• Ability to read/write English at an intermediate level and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and perform daily maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with the Community Manager on unit walks, inspections, move‑ins/outs, and project planning.
• Ensure all repairs/replacements necessary for apartment to be occupied are completed.
• Manage weekly make‑ready schedules and service request assignments; monitor progress and quality.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating maintenance staff.
• Respond to and prioritize resident service requests; ensure timely completion with minimal callbacks.
• Walk and prepare vacant units; ensure all repairs and cleaning are completed prior to move‑in.
