Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer project. The PPTT Simulator Engineering unit designs, tests, and delivers PPTT components to support Navy training.

This role can be based at the Bettis Site (PA) or Kesselring Site (NY) and requires independent work through the project lifecycle with strong stakeholder communication. Preferred candidates bring naval propulsion experience, SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling skills, and a

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with at least 6 years of experience; or Master’s with at least 4 years; or Doctorate with at least 1 year; or current Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at the Company.
  • Experience in Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program preferred.
  • Experience evaluating designs and production equipment against technical requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently or in a group.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Perform design/process reviews and technical interchanges with suppliers.
  • Perform hardware inspections and equipment testing at suppliers.
  • Review and disposition supplier submittals to validate technical requirements.
