Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project. PPTT Simulator Engineering supports design, production, testing, and delivery to enhance Navy training at Bettis and Kesselring sites.

The role involves independent project work, stakeholder interface, supplier design reviews, inspections, and ensuring technical requirements are met. Open to Bettis (PA) or Kesselring (NY) based engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 6+ years of experience; or Master's with 4+ years; or Doctorate with 1+ year; or currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer.
• Experience in Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and Training Program is preferred.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Ability to evaluate designs, manage suppliers, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Perform design and process reviews and technical interchanges with suppliers.
• Perform hardware inspections and equipment testing at suppliers.
• Review and disposition supplier submittals to validate technical requirements.
