Job summary

SOLID Surface Care in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Payroll Manager to own all aspects of payroll for ~500 employees across multiple states. This hands-on leadership role covers the full payroll lifecycle, including timekeeping, processing, taxes, garnishments, reconciliations and reporting.

The successful candidate will bring multi-state payroll experience, strong compliance, and the ability to partner with HR and Finance to build a trusted payroll operation that meets deadlines and maintains

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with full-cycle responsibility.
• 3+ years owning or leading end-to-end payroll function.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local payroll taxation and compliance.
• Experience administering garnishments and other deductions.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations and year-end processing.
• Proficient with Excel and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll for ~500 employees across multiple states.
• Manage payroll cycle from data collection to post-payroll reconciliation.
• Review timekeeping data and resolve exceptions before deadlines.
• Process hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, PTO, reimbursements.
• Process off-cycle payrolls and final-pay payments.
• Review payroll reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll calendar and deadlines.
• Serve as primary resource for employee payroll questions.
• Ensure payroll information is accurate and compliant.
