Job summary

RTCA in Washington state is seeking a CNC Multi-Axis Lathe Setup Specialist to join our precision aerospace machining team. This full-time onsite role focuses on setting up and proving out multi-axis lathes, optimizing changeovers, and ensuring first-pass quality.

You will work with CNC programmers and process engineers, apply SMED, build quick-change tooling, and mentor operators. Experience with Fanuc/Mazatrol, GD&T, and aerospace materials is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC lathe setup experience.
• 2+ years on multi-axis mill-turn machines (twin spindle/twin turret).
• Strong command of G-code and machine control (Fanuc/Mazatrol/OSP).
• Solid blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Track record of reducing setup time with SMED or quick-change tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prove out multi-axis CNC lathes from bar stock to finished part in one handling.
• Own changeovers; apply SMED to speed setups.
• Build and maintain quick-change tooling systems and setup sheets.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers and process engineers on tooling and cycle-time reduction.
• Train operators on setups, offsets, inspection, and safe machine operation.
