Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an advanced MSSQL Administrator for the Network Security Operations Center in Martinsburg, WV. You will maintain MSSQL 2022 production and development instances, perform design, tuning, backups, and recovery, and work with developers on new applications.

The role requires strong scripting with PowerShell, configuring SQL Agent jobs, SSIS, and Always On, plus enforcing DISA/FISMA/STIG security practices. On-call support is required once a month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; 12 years of experience required.
• Experience with MongoDB administration in enterprise environments.
• Must obtain one of the listed certifications within six months of hire.
• Must pass a government Tier 2 Moderate Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and administer MSSQL 2022 production and development instances.
• Perform design, performance monitoring and tuning, backups/recovery, and query optimization/tuning.
• Configure and maintain SQL Agent jobs, server audits, and SSIS packages.
• Configure and maintain Always On Availability Groups.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement MSSQL-based solutions.
• Write PowerShell scripts to automate administration tasks.
• Harden SQL instances per DISA, FISMA and GOV Best Practice STIGS.
• Configure TDE and SSL encryption.
• Configure and administer MongoDB.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support one week per month.
