Job summary

Critical Start, a leader in 24x7 AI-accelerated cybersecurity, seeks a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer for our Managed Security Services team in Plano, TX.

You will design, implement, and improve SIEM deliverables, onboard multiple security technologies, and support clients with tailored security solutions. You will configure data sources, create dashboards, and serve as escalation SME, guiding teams and customers toward robust security postures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with industry certifications.
• 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience with SIEM tools, specifically Splunk & Microsoft Sentinel.
• Experience handling security data sources, log formats, and data ingestion methods.
• Experience creating SIEM content such as alerts, reports, and dashboards.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• 2+ years of experience with next-gen antivirus (AV) or endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Scripting capabilities in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or other languages.
• Ability to establish trust with customers, even in complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Configure data sources and log forwarders for SIEM environments.
• Create custom content: dashboards, workbooks, reports, and alerts.
• Conduct environment reviews and gap analyses for security deployments.
• Serve as SME and escalation point for internal and client issues.
• Lead cross-functional training and develop technical pathways for growth.
• Deploy endpoint agents and security policies; tune logs and alerts.
• Help mature SIEM and endpoint security per industry standards.
• Troubleshoot data-source and SIEM integration issues and API interactions.
