Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison – Rheumatology to cover the South New York region, with coverage across NY, New England states, and adjacent territories. This field-based role requires strong scientific engagement with KOLs and HCPs to share evidence-based insights.

You will develop territory plans, build professional relationships, and collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, and cross-functional partners to advance scientific understanding and patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctorate level degree or equivalent (PharmD/PhD/MD) required.
• 2+ years of relevant MSL experience.
• Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise and data analysis skills.
• Willing to travel up to 70% within territory.
• Valid US driver's license preferred.
• Located in major metro area preferred (NYC/New Haven/Burlington).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs strategy, prioritized medical objectives, and approved core medical assets.
• Engage in high quality, two‑way scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs to understand perspectives on treatment landscape and educational gaps.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to advance scientific credibility.
• Utilize insights and MSL tools to develop a strategic approach for customer engagements within territory.
• Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance decision making and processes.
• Deliver tailored scientific data to HCPs that translates evidence clearly and balancedly.
• Collect and submit high quality actionable insights aligned with current priorities.
• Provide point‑of‑contact support to investigators and internal partners for studies.
• Respond to unsolicited research inquiries with objective information.
• Execute Medical Affairs strategy while balancing short and long term objectives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across MSL, R&D, and Sales/Marketing.
