Job summary

AstraZeneca Rare Disease is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison to support scientific objectives across product lifecycles. This field-based role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and KOLs within the territory.

The Sr. MSL will need strong communication, clinical expertise, and leadership to drive engagement plans and education for internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Biological Sciences or related major.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a clinical setting or related therapeutic area.
• MD, PharmD, or PhD in biological sciences strongly preferred and/or a minimum of 2 years track record as an MSL.
• Industry experience or equivalent (>3 years)

Responsibilities

• Evaluates territory to profile HCPs and centers of excellence.
• Develops HCP engagement plans aligned with medical goals and quarterly priorities.
• Gains and maintains HCP trust by providing relevant scientific information.
• Gathers and disseminates HCP insights to inform medical strategy.
• Develops strong working relationships in external environments.
• Keeps current with scientific knowledge and integrates literature insights.
• Supports scientific exchange with external stakeholders as needed.
• Educates internal teams on relevant scientific information.
• Demonstrates understanding of real-world evidence and HEOR.
• Understands clinical study design and protocols; communicates focused data to HCPs.
• Supports externally sponsored research and trials as appropriate.
• Maintains proficient knowledge of US healthcare system and managed markets.
