Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) to operate as a field-based scientific expert supporting Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease’s products in the US. You will cultivate relationships with HCPs and KOLs, share robust scientific data, and help shape medical strategy across the product life cycle.

The Sr. MSL will travel within the territory (~70% time), work from home base, and collaborate with Medical Directors, USMA leadership, and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Biological Sciences or related major.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a clinical setting or related therapeutic area.
• MD, PharmD, or PhD in biological sciences strongly preferred and/or a minimum of 2 years track record of success as an MSL.
• Industry experience or equivalent (preferably >3 years).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates territory to profile HCPs and identify centers of excellence.
• Develops HCP engagement plans aligned with medical goals and quarterly priorities.
• Provides scientific information to HCPs and Gathers insights for medical strategy.
• Supports external research and clinical trial discussions when appropriate.
• Maintains knowledge of US healthcare system and managed markets.
