Job summary

Amgen in Washington DC seeks a Senior Medical Science Liaison for Obesity and Related Conditions. This field-based role reports to the MSL Field Director and serves as the primary scientific resource to OLs, PHDMs, and healthcare providers within the obesity pipeline.

You will advance Amgen’s scientific platform, engage investigators and IDNs, and communicate data with balance and compliance. The role includes training, congress activities, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with required Medical Affairs experience
• Bachelor’s with 8+ years Medical Affairs experience
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred
• 7+ years in a medically related field including clinical practice/research
• 2+ years in a Medical Science Liaison role in biotech/pharma
• Cardiometabolic/Obesity expertise preferred
• Experience with designated territory

Responsibilities

• Spend majority of time on peer-to-peer activities with obesity-related OLs and PHDMs and other healthcare providers to discuss and advance scientific platform
• Engage with clinical investigators and sites in support of the obesity pipeline
• Engage with PHDMs within IDNs to communicate scientific data of clinical value, outcomes, and economic data
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to amplify Amgen’s reach and access for patients
• Conduct in-depth scientific exchange to provide focused, balanced clinical data
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and may serve as a study lead
• Mentor other MSLs as designated by MSL leadership
• Complete administrative tasks (Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance modules) timely
• Maintain clinical/scientific acumen with current data and trends
• Build strong relationships and communicate scientific data effectively
