Job summary

MGP Ingredients, Inc. is seeking a hands-on MRO Procurement Lead to manage indirect purchasing, inventory, and storeroom activities supporting safe and cost-effective operations.

You will develop sourcing strategies, negotiate terms, and coordinate critical purchases while aligning with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Procurement. Strong ERP/CMMS and SAP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field.
• Five years of progressive MRO procurement or storeroom experience.
• Leadership or lead responsibility experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP/CMMS and purchase-to-pay processes.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Professional certification through ISM/APICS or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing of indirect MRO materials, parts, equipment, repairs, and services within delegated authority and company policy.
• Develop sourcing strategies; solicit and evaluate quotations; negotiate terms; select suppliers based on total value, quality, service, delivery, safety, and risk.
• Review requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy, approvals, specifications, contract requirements, and appropriate sourcing practices.
• Coordinate urgent and critical purchases and establish contingency sources to minimize disruption.
• Establish inventory controls and storeroom strategies aligned with equipment criticality and maintenance plans.
• Manage cycle counts, annual inventories, reconciliation, and obsolete inventory reviews.
• Ensure storerooms are secure, organized, labeled, and compliant with safety standards.
• Identify standardization opportunities and manage item naming, classifications, and sourcing standards.
