Job summary

MGP Ingredients is seeking a senior MRO procurement leader to oversee maintenance, materials, and operations purchasing across the organization. You will drive sourcing, supplier management, and cost-control initiatives while partnering with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Procurement.

The role emphasizes inventory control, critical-spare planning, and adherence to enterprise standards. Strong ERP/CMMS and SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or a related field preferred.
• Five years of progressive experience in MRO procurement or storeroom operations, with leadership responsibility.
• Proficiency with ERP/CMMS, purchase-to-pay processes and inventory controls; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRO procurement of indirect materials, services, and equipment within policy and budget.
• Develop sourcing strategies, solicit quotations, negotiate terms and select suppliers on total value.
• Review requisitions/POs for accuracy and contract compliance; ensure proper sourcing practices.
• Coordinate urgent purchases and establish contingency sources to minimize disruption.
• Establish inventory controls and stocking strategies aligned with maintenance plans and criticality.
• Manage cycle counts, inventories, reconciliation, and obsolete inventory reviews.
• Ensure storerooms are organized, labeled, and compliant with safety standards.
• Develop and enforce item-naming, classifications, and approved-source standards.
• Identify opportunities to standardize materials across units and negotiate cost savings.
• Track supplier performance and drive corrective actions; manage risk and compliance.
