Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a process development scientist to join the mRNA process development team in Boston. The role involves designing and executing experiments to characterize and optimize mRNA processes, with emphasis on GMP-compliant tech transfer and scalable manufacturing.

The candidate will work on IVT process development, bioreactors, and chromatographic systems (AKTA Avant, Agilent 1260). Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with relevant lab experience.
• Experience with process development and manufacturing of protein, AAV, or mRNA therapeutics; mRNA process development preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP regulations and tech transfer activities.
• Experience with IVT processes and operating bioreactors/fermenters.
• Experience with downstream purification and analytical processes (TFF, Akta Avant, Agilent 1260).
• Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to develop and optimize mRNA process characterization techniques.
• Evaluate process performance and identify productivity improvements.
• Support GMP transition of development-stage processes toward compliant manufacturing.
• Develop scalable plasmid DNA production processes using fermentation.
