Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking an on-site MRI Technologist to operate high-field MRI equipment in the Ambulatory Platform. The role requires ARRT certification within 12 months, 2+ years MR experience, and BLS certification, with duties including screening for MR safety and producing diagnostic MRI images.

You will maintain patient safety, assist with scheduling, and train new technologists while ensuring quality control and coordination with the health-care team.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required or to be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• Two years of MR experience for Level II and four years for advancement.
• BLS certification required.
• Completion of an AMA Radiologic Technology program or equivalent MR training.
• Ability to operate MRI equipment and administer contrast per protocol.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory guidelines in radiology.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce specialized images of body regions.
• Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedures and maintain zone safety.
• Evaluate image quality and ensure proper labeling and sequence of acquisitions.
• Provide orientation and training to new MRI technologists.
• Coordinate with care teams to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Schedule patients and assist with clerical tasks related to exams.
• Maintain regulatory records and perform routine QC of MRI procedures.
