Job summary

GE HealthCare in Waukesha, WI seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to shape MRI software used in medical imaging equipment. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software for MR scanners, collaborating with engineers, product leaders, and domain experts to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions in a regulated environment.

You’ll work in Linux environments, develop distributed services, and mentor teammates while writing maintainable, well-tested code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production software applications.
• Strong experience working in Unix/Linux development environments.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems or microservices-based applications.
• Experience building software that interfaces with hardware, instruments, sensors, or other physical devices.
• Experience with software version control, configuration management, and build tools such as Git, Perforce, Maven, or Gradle.
• Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements development, architecture, implementation, verification, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.

• Experience with medical imaging systems or medical device software development.
• Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Experience with REST APIs and modern service-oriented architectures.
• Python scripting experience.
• Experience with Cypress or automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated software development environments.
