Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Waukesha, WI area to help advance MRI software for clinicians and patients. You will design, develop, test, and support software components powering MR scanners in a regulated environment, working closely with engineers and domain experts.

You will use Linux, modern SDLC practices, and CI/CD in a collaborative, cross-functional team to deliver reliable, high-quality software that interfaces with hardware and supports patient care.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production software applications.
• Strong experience in Unix/Linux development environments.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems or microservices-based applications.
• Experience building software that interfaces with hardware, instruments, sensors, or other physical devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features for GE HealthCare MR scanners.
• Collaborate with users, feature leads, systems engineers, and SMEs to define and implement solutions.
• Develop software within Agile practices and a CI environment.
• Apply software engineering principles including architecture, design, testing, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to distributed and microservices-based applications.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across software and system environments.
• Support continuous improvement across development, sustaining, and support teams.
