Qualifications

• Underwrite complex professional liability risks with authority.
• Strong MPL knowledge and claims drivers.
• Broker relationships and business development.
• Experience building/scaling books or programs.
• Analytical, negotiation, and portfolio management skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal MPL risks per guidelines and targets.
• Evaluate submissions, financials, loss runs, contracts, and other underwriting data.
• Structure, price, quote, bind, and manage MPL accounts for growth.
• Develop appetite, guidelines, and pricing strategy with leadership.
• Build broker relationships to drive submissions and market presence.
• Negotiate terms and pricing balancing production and discipline.
• Monitor performance, rate adequacy, and loss trends.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, legal, operations, product, and compliance.
• Provide underwriting mentorship to junior staff.
• Assist product enhancements and wording reviews.
• Maintain accurate files and data quality in systems.
