Job summary

Seagate Technology seeks a Senior Engineer for the Wafer Process Engineering group in Bloomington, MN. The role focuses on HAMR reader/writer tech development, process manufacturability, and experiments that drive scale from development to full-volume manufacturing.

You will collaborate across Wafer Operations, Process Development, Design, and Product Engineering, applying DOE, SPC, and ML techniques to improve throughput and device performance while supporting automation using Python and OCAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related technical discipline and 5+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years; or a PhD with 0+ years.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate HAMR reader/writer technologies.
• Focus on process manufacturability and readiness for volume production.
• Document, present technical results to audiences.
• Design and execute statistically valid experiments.
• Troubleshoot material, process, and product design issues.
• Develop machine learning, data science, and AI applications.
