Job summary

Seagate's Wafer MPI team in Bloomington, MN seeks a Senior Engineer to scale HAMR and related technologies for high-volume production. You will drive manufacturability, document results, and present to diverse audiences.

Requires engineering/physics/materials background with 5+ years (or 3+ with MS). Travel and cross-functional collaboration are integral to advancing process integration across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience; or a Master's with 3+ years; or PhD with minimal experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey complex concepts.
• DOE, statistical analysis and SPC experience in manufacturing settings.
• Occasional international travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate HAMR, reader and writer technologies.
• Focus on process manufacturability for volume production readiness.
• Design and execute statistically valid experiments and analyses.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve process and manufacturing challenges.
