Job summary

RTX is seeking mid-career engineers for the Effector Analog & Power team to design and test motor control systems. You will work on power electronics, servo electronics, and mixed-signal interfaces for telemetry and flight termination products, operating in voltages and power ranges up to 10kW and 1000V, with hands-on circuit card work.

The role emphasizes design from concept to integration, collaboration across teams, and a path toward SME leadership, supported by a strong engineering culture

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of experience; or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with motor types such as Brushed, BLDC, or PMSM is a plus.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or similar tools.
• Experience with analog electronics design (FETs/BJTs, op-amps, filters).
• Lab work experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics.
• Design considerations for voltages >400V and power >10kW; three-phase systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power circuitry (3-phase inverters, sensors, controllers).
• Lead circuit board development stages from requirements to integration testing.
• Define schedules for circuit-level tasks and monitor progress.
• Guide ECAD drafters on layout and routing and assist in layer stackup.
• Lead small teams as SME on Controls Hardware Electronics.
