Job summary

Symbotic is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer to reinforce our Micro-fulfillment team in Wilmington, MA. You will maintain motion planning and tasking services within a state-of-the-art warehouse automation system.

The role emphasizes delivering robust, modular software in a fast-paced Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable motion planning and execution for grocery supply chain automation.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of Core Java development (Java 8+).
Experience building reactive microservices or event-driven distributed systems.
Experience with messaging platforms (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
Experience with Docker containerization.
Experience in robotics/automation, especially robotic routing.
Experience with NoSQL and in-memory caches like Redis.
Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP).
Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
Experience working in an Agile environment.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Develop robotic motion planning/execution and tasking solutions for the Micro-fulfillment System.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and safety teams to document software requirements.
Develop and perform code reviews for modular, well-documented software.
Create unit, integration, and acceptance tests to validate software quality.
