Pickle Robot Company is seeking a software engineer with deep expertise in motion planning for autonomous robotic manipulators. The role requires a Master's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with strong Python and C++ skills to drive scalable robotics software.

The position is based in Charlestown, MA, with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence at least three days per week. You will mentor teammates and collaborate across hardware and software teams to advance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS, robotics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with autonomous robots (academic/industrial).
• Strong motion planning for robotic manipulators (dynamics, sampling, optimization).
• Python and C++ proficiency for robotics software.
• Experience with ML for planning is a plus.
• Able to debug complex problems while keeping system integrity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize motion-planning algorithms for compliant manipulators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate into hardware and software systems.
• Contribute to scalable software architectures enabling multi-robot deployments.
• Mentor other engineers to raise team capability in planning and manipulation.
